Atiu Villas provides a quiet and relaxing environment surrounded by an extensive tropical garden, pineapple fields, and a view down a jungle-clad valley to the ocean. It is only a short walk to the white sandy beaches of the southern coastline.
The villas are unique in that the chalet-style villas are made almost entirely of local native timbers and materials and feature the polished woods of mango, coconut, red peanut, acacia, cedar, Java plum, and many other tropical trees. Each villa has a private verandah, cooking facilities, separate bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, and a feature not often seen elsewhere, a fully stocked larder which guests can use and pay for what they use on departure. The larders are well-stocked with dairy food, beverages, packaged and tinned food.
Experiences available in Atiu include guided birdlife tours, cave exploration, visits to the local coffee factory, and the 'tumunu' - the evening traditional bush beer school.
Casual Luxury can be found at the Tamanu Beach Resort located on the western coast of Aitutaki with stunning sunset views. Their private, white sand beach borders Aitutaki Island's world-renowned crystal clear lagoon providing endless opportunities for island activities such as lagoon cruises, swimming, snorkelling, SUPS, and kayaking in the azure waters. Tamanu Beach offers spacious air-conditioned bungalows, two freshwater swimming pools, and a beachfront bar.
